Dad has the kids. It was just the two of us. We went out to the local Burger bistro joint. I’m out of touch with eating out since we do it so infrequently, but I was surprised that 2x burgers, entrees and drinks still managed to come out at just over $100.
A low key expensive date is still a date. I’ll take it gladly.
Maybe a weekly food post might get more responses than a daily one?
Anyway, just to contribute … Here is a chana dal cooked to an inch of its life, and a spicy guar bean dry curry using chickpea flour and with a hot rocoto chilli from the balcony.
Tucking in with fluffy basmati and microwaved pappadums

I’m gonna airfry some of those Tegel Take Out Nashville chicken portions. Might have some noodles too.
Sell me on the air fryer idea - how much use do you get out of it? I don’t know anyone who has one and I’m loathe to add another appliance to my house if it won’t get frequent use. I’m a solid stove and oven cook, so I don’t need anything to make up for a lack of ability if that makes sense. Just wondering what it would add to my options?
I was an oven person too. So if you cook small portions of things like chips, nuggets, veg etc it’s great because it heats up and cooks quicker. If you bake biscuits cakes etc (although you can still do it but in smaller quantities) or you have a large family then it might not suit you. I cook for 2 others so it’s perfect.
Teriyaki chicken with noodles is the plan. (My wife is the chef though, I’m normally just on chopping or side dish duty)
