Dab some nail polish on any scratches deep enough to reach the metal to prevent rust.

I rang one of my friends to ask. Going to see if I can get one the closest shade to my paint

Nail polish? I don’t know anything about nail polish.

What do you suggest I get?

Any colour or clear. Go to the cheap end of line bin at Priceline or chemists warehouse or similar and get a bottle. Probably won’t cost more than a couple of bux. There might even be a colour there that’s close or use a colourless one (top coat). There’s a tiny brush inside the cap for applying it. Easily removed with acetone when the time comes to fix the car. Just tell the mechanic or spray painter or whoever that you used nail polish on the bare metal if any. One coat should be sufficient to protect against rust, but do maybe two if it’ll be a while before getting the damage fixed properly.

I just don’t have the money to fix it or anything so I have to do the cheapie option, thank you for the suggestion.

Kmart seems to have what I need and they’re only 2.80 a bottle.

Am I in trouble if I can’t get it fixed professionally in the foreseeable future?

Not a professional here, but I understand that any damage to the paint/coating can lead to water/rust damage. More of a problem where the car is out in the weather and there’s violent weather and/or extremes of temperature change. If you have a way to keep the car under cover most of the time that will help. Paint damage doesn’t help with resale value.

              Ok thanks.

I’m not worried about reselling but the rust issue dies worry me. This might be the start of the end if my car :(
