Melbcat hid from me when I came back in the room after giving her meds :( She got over it quickly and is cuddling again but that’s the first time she’s ever acted scared of me. (I’ve never hurt her.)
She’s perked up a lot and seems to be feeling better on everything so I think it’s all working. It just sucks that the routine she’s currently on is full on and stressful (not helped by her refusing to eat medicated food like before).
I hope that when the antibiotics are done she starts eating her usuals in wet food again so she only has to drink one med once a day.
It might be a weirdly good thing she’s hiding from you; she’s getting better and so has the energy for doing so. If she was still so utterly sick, she might not have the energy to hide, I’d take it as a sign the med routine is working! Plus, it sounds like you’ve been forgiven very easily, she certainly, without a doubt, trusts and loves you!
You’re taking wonderful care of her! I’m so happy to hear she’s feeling more herself! 💜
Thanks. She’s definitely feeling better. She’s walking around, washing herself, curious about things and hungry for treats. Her fur looks good and her eyes more normal.
I think she knows I would never hurt her. She’s just overwhelmed by the current hardcore meds regime. Still sucks to see her anxious.
