Hmm… just tried the countertop dishwasher for the first time and a few things quite annoy me. I hope I get used to it or I might give it away

    spoiler

Edit: Ahh good, it’s only the rapid cycle I tried that didn’t do any drying. Because everything was left literally dripping wet (way more so than drip drying in a rack beside the sink) so would force you to dry things really thoroughly by hand (soaking a few tea towels) and would draw roaches if you left the door open to avoid mould. Still something of a concern tho.

Not loving that I’d have to use an hour long program to get any drying but I’ll try it out on the pet bowls so see if they’re left less sopping.

I would have liked a second rack to fit in a larger number of tiny items. I’ll have to learn how to load it properly and really learn how it works I guess. There’s a flap up top that could be for long handled spoons or little teacups. To YouTube I guess.

The utensil holder lid pissed me off to the point I just ran the load without it /shrug

Also completely petty but I didn’t like the fact that it asks for 5 litres of water to be poured in but supplies you a jug smaller than that which is marked in weird measurements. You have to just keep refilling and pouring until you hear the beeping and the tap icon disappears, leaving you with leftover water in the jug. Seriously? Marking it as 1.4L and .6L was a very random choice and I might just use my own jug.

You also need to be slow/careful in pouring so you don’t bump the pourer tray as it’s held in the inlet by a shallow lip and is quite shallow itself so you can spill some down the back of the machine. Bit hard to hold the heavy jug up for a while to go slow.

I didn’t grow up with a dishwasher and the few times I’ve used one they were full size that left the stuff basically almost dry. So yeah. It’s a learning curve.

I do like that you can just pour the water in though rather than having to constantly connect and disconnect to the kitchen tap, that would drive me nuts. Especially as the connections aren’t necessarily universal.

Standalone/tank fill option means you can put the normal stuff in to get cleaned while you handwash the knives and the cooking pots.

I really love mine. It has saved my back on numerous occasions. I have one of those metal utensil holders with the holes all over it so anything that doesn’t fit in the utensil holder goes in there. The 3 hour cycle I think dries everything but it isn’t great. I never grew up with a dishwasher so anything would be an improvement for me. I’m really impressed with it.

Sorry if I seem a bit picky and critical lol. I tend to have to get used to new things

Don’t be sorry. You pay a lot of money for it, you want it to work for you, not the other way around.

I’ve just expanded on my comment, I’ll probably be adding more info as I use it more.

I’m pretty thorough with describing how I find using things and how well they suit me.

Lemme know if anyone wants pics, I’ll have to buy a banana for scale

I’m quite curious as to what it looks like if you’d like to show. I’ve been thinking about getting one and appreciate the info you’ve provided :)

Yes please! I’d be interested in seeing a plate for scale, as well as whatever the largest thing you’d want to wash in the dishwasher (whether or not it fits), if you don’t mind. I’m more of a reference person than a numbers person
