I miss having employment that paid for an Adobe CC subscription. I do own CS5 from uni days, which kinda sucks now relatively speaking, but at least the jump from modern CC to CS5 is a lot smaller than the jump from CC to Affinity. I just can’t get used to Affinity.

I followed GenP instructions to the letter and I still got the inauthentic software banner. I might give it another go one day though.

Interesting. It worked well for me. I will admit it’s fairly complicated and I had to do it twice to get it working

FYI M.A.S works with word and O365 as it does windows, and is a lot simpler than GenP for adobe. Just in case you need Office

I noticed after I cleaned it up that the hosts file may not have changed, or somehow reverted. I plan on being a bit more forensic with the process if I try it again!

Office was a cinch though ;)

      I still use CS5.

It’s still a lot of program for what it is. I still do minor video editing, basic PDF stuff and photo and editing when needed.

I still use Illustrator for wordmarks and artwork to printers/screenprinters etc.

CS5 definitely gets the job done, but I constantly run into things like no SVG support in Photoshop. Also, more modern issues like no support for variable fonts and stuff. But I can definitely get 90% of the way there.

Yeah, some of the work arounds are a pain.

The backwards compatibility is usually where I find myself stuck. Probably one of the things that I find infuriating is that moreso forced obsolescence rather than planned obsolescence.

Thousands of dollars for software that can be used, but becomes unusable. I’m sure they can make arguments for the costs of maintaining support etc. but if a least compatibility was maintained, that would be something. Users/businesses that need an efficient workflow will always upgrade, but forcing customers to, is just ugh.

The practice of software/services that I’ve paid for that suddenly withdraw features after having paid for it or being a customer for years is disgusting. At the end of the day we’re just a number.
