      Tourism in Australia is too expensive. I went overseas to Japan a few years ago, after pricing up a Queensland holiday for 2 weeks.

      Bro, we are a capitalist society. This kind of root cause analyses and “trying to help people” isnt really the theme we’re going for here.

        To be fair, government handouts to business is not capitalism. In a truly capitalist society if the business can’t survive too bad it fails.

        A handout is a form of welfare. It’s just that the tourism industry feels that they are a more deserving recipient than others.
