Bacon: takes pretty sky photo from living room window using phone camera.

Me: goes outside, waits until optimal time, puts phone camera in night mode with long exposure and captures these…

Same except mine was just bright with light pollution. I even went to a nearby park and still nothing. Maybe my timing was wrong or bad location. I will just have to live vicariously through other people’s photos.

Philosophical side note: we all live in the same world but some of us get auroras and some of us don’t. Hmmm.

Bacon is serving aurora jelly you might like if you missed out on sky pretty.

I may have to sample some. Reminds me of the dessert ‘stained glass windows’ which is different coloured jellies in a milk jelly.

in your phone’s defense, I used a camera at f/2, ISO 400, 1.6 seconds exposure. My phone does not have night mode and performed even worse.
