Had a long and productive catchup today to get my brain in motion again with Life shit at least briefly. Sometimes I am amazed and so grateful that people actually want to meet up with me and catch up for hours - maybe I am less amazed than before as my self-esteem isn’t quite as shit, but still. I am so happy to have these people in my life.

Stoopid pre-employment check didn’t like my selfie so I got some help to take another one, of course the silly company in the US (they made zero effort to localise their website - and proceeded to ask for more points of ID than I’ve ever had to provide even for Australian immigration purposes) So they won’t process it until late tonight; bummer as that’s one day wasted. I hope they give it the OK tonight so HR here can progress with me tomorrow and fingers crossed I can start next week, I know the manager would like me on asap.
