Hang in there. It’s nearly over.

I used one - Select Property Advisers. Worth every cent in freedom from hassle. Flat fees - keep dreaming. They all charge commission.

Oooh that’s a new development. Granted I bought about 5 years ago now.

My last experience of buying property was about 27 years ago, so having someone who knows what they are doing seems a great idea. I think there have been a lot of changes to the way things are done because of the Covid lockdowns too. It’s hard to even know where to start.

Were they good with the process of clarifying exactly what you are after and finding something appropriate?

They were bloody brilliant! Coached me through the selection criteria process, then found properties that fit my requirements and organised inspections and any engineering reports etc. Then they bid for me at the auction (which I would have stuffed up for certain sure), and arranged all the handover stuff too. All I had to do was make a decision prioritising 3 properties (any one of which would have been fine), and turn up to actually look at the properties etc. and the auctions (ready to hand over the deposit). They don’t do the money thing if borrowing, but as I was paying cash this didn’t apply to me). I got the first one on my prioritised list. The whole process was as nearly pain free as possible. Yes, they charged but it was worth it in ulcer medication alone I reckon. And no wasted time inspecting places that just wouldn’t work for me.
