Bit of context: bought a charger off ebay and the description stated things would be posted through AusPost. Tracking didn’t work, so I messaged the seller and apparently they decided to send through some random company called “PF Logistics” because “Our shipping agency will be send by local shipping method be according to different zone and different post code, that’s we can not control.” - despite the fact it was going from Sydney to Melbourne
Old mate apparently rocked up at 6:30pm and tossed it over the fence, even though there’s a letterbox it would’ve fit in right there. Then the tracking info didn’t bother to inform me it had been delivered until 11am the next morning. Was half tempted to make some shit up about it being broken.
I’ve bought some eBay items that claim to be sent from within Australia (and sometimes match the expected shipping speed, ie take a few days to 1 week) but arrive in packaging that looks international. I suspect some just lie.
Perhaps there are ways of getting packages in quicker if you do it bulk in one batch? Some quasi-dropship arrangement, where they get sent internationally to Australia but somehow you get them batched together faster when crossing the ocean. Maybe that’s what PF logistics is.
Potentially, but it did still arrive in under a week. Plus the tracking said it was in Sydney the day after it was marked posted, so if it was coming to me from overseas it definitely didn’t come by boat
I’ve seen places do that before though. AliExpress gets everything repacked by UFL or something like that in Sydney after it gets here from china, then they forward it on through Auspost (although I’ve seen them use some weird company called the fast cow express or something too). Usually that just means they receive it and slap an Auspost label over the top but occasionally they either repack everything or just stick it in a second bag too
If it arrived in under a week it was definitely ex some Chinese special economic village
