Oh my god… I’d been getting more and more annoyed that my apartment air conditioning is seemingly blowing unconditioned air. My real estate agency’s office is closed for its holiday so I figured I’d open up the controller thing on the wall and have a look-see. Turns out the dial thing has 2 screws which hold it against some kind of switch behind it and the plastic where one of the screws screws in is broken so it wasn’t being pressed against the switch. WHY WOULD THAT NEED TO BE A THING??? I don’t want to think about how much money I’ve wasted running this thing as basically a fan. I have been avoiding using it a bit though so it shouldn’t be too bad but I do wonder when it broke.
Anyway I don’t have any superglue and I can’t get it properly fixed, so I have deployed a highly technical short-term fix.

A fan is cheap too run, if that’s all that was running on it.
The building charges for air conditioning as its own unit by volume, rather than it being included in the electricity :(
