Bit of context: bought a charger off ebay and the description stated things would be posted through AusPost. Tracking didn’t work, so I messaged the seller and apparently they decided to send through some random company called “PF Logistics” because “Our shipping agency will be send by local shipping method be according to different zone and different post code, that’s we can not control.” - despite the fact it was going from Sydney to Melbourne
Old mate apparently rocked up at 6:30pm and tossed it over the fence, even though there’s a letterbox it would’ve fit in right there. Then the tracking info didn’t bother to inform me it had been delivered until 11am the next morning. Was half tempted to make some shit up about it being broken.
If it is listed in eBay as Auspost (with fees and etc for Auspost specifically) then raise it with eBay. Some people (eg rural) can only take Auspost deliveries and any other courier just makes things a pain in the arse for them.
I use Auspost, or DHL, or - when I’m using their site - Amazon. Those three reliably deliver to my address with minimal fuss. Anyone else is shithouse here.
I have had decent luck with AusPost everywhere I’ve ever lived, especially when I was in whoop whoop. I have beef for unrelated reasons with Amazon, but I have also had a decent experience with Toll (or Global express or whatever the hell they’re calling themselves these days)
Yeah I don’t get much Toll stuff, but I use it at work and it’s fine for us there.
One of my sticking points with eBay is all the random shithouse courier services that sellers use. I don’t care if it costs $17.95 for Auspost if it saves me a day or two of dicking around trying to locate a parcel at some random depot across town.
Auspost has their issues for sure. But for me, my local post office where missed parcels end up is a 5 minute walk away, and my postie is the same guy each day who knows the route and the people on it.
