I have been popping into the gözleme place over the road every few days for the last 2 weeks trying to get a sujuk & tasty cheese gözleme but they either keep just selling out for the day or waiting for a delivery of the sausage. Today I finally have obtained one and I am pleased :)
If you ever see it on a Turkish menu, it’s a lovely spicy (not too spicy, just enough to make it interesting) sausage. Don’t be scared of the sujuk (sometimes spelled sucuk) it is your friend.
Do you know what else is really good? Simit. It’s a turkish doughnut shaped bread roll with sesame seeds and has a slight sweet taste. Once you try them, you’ll think about them all the time.

Ohhh I’ve seen these in their display case but I think I thought they were bagels. I will have to try, thanks!
Oooo. You are in for a treat.
Sujuk loves me and I love it
sujuk are friends, not food.
