    2 questions:
Are most GPs okay with visits from people with cold/flu symptoms now?
And: if I get a medical certificate for a few days, but feel okay to return to work while still within the period I’m cleared as unfit for work - is there a problem with me doing so?

1 - wear a mask if seeing a GP in person, and it should be okay.

2 - you cannot return to work until after the period the cert states.

Mmmm. I don’t think my medical practice is doing Telehealth anymore so what else am I going to do I guess? I still need to see a doctor…

Not sure about the first question, but if you get a medical certificate you can’t go back to work unless the doctor does a new certificate. Your employer would be breaching their OH&S responsibilities to let you work when a doctor has said you are not fit to do so.

It’s a bit awkward. Like I want to go back to work ASAP, mainly as I have no sick leave. But also, I don’t want to go and get one day medical certificate and then risk still not feeling up to it tomorrow.

My GP’s practice still does not allow face-to-face consultations for people with fever or respiratory symptoms.

Regarding the medical certificate, that would be up to your employer for sure.

Could you get a cert from a chemist? I’m pretty sure some of them do it, and it might be cheaper than a dr
