Its NVME and I figured I’d go 2tb gen 4 since that’s what’s in there.

I can get one for about $169 but I’m all about cost minimisation

2tb is heaps for a laptop, do you need that much?

If you drop down to gen 3, it’ll still be plenty fast and slightly cheaper: https://www.umart.com.au/product/silicon-power-2tb-p34a60-gen3x4-tlc-r-w-up-to-2-200-1-600-mb-s-pcie-m-2-nvme-ssd-61704

But gen4 from the same site is not much more: https://www.umart.com.au/product/klevv-2tb-cras-c910-k02tbm2sp0-c91-pcie-4-0-nvme-m-2-2280-ssd-80368

Never heard of klevv though, could be sketchy

I just figured I’d keep it consistent. The HP SSD I’m looking at is at least a known brand and a bit faster for just a bit more.

The current laptop is filing up, but that’s from trying to get old games running on it through WINE and not being partitioned properly because I left Windows on there. I could back everything up to the new laptop and do a clean sweep of the old one.

How much free space do you have on there? I’ve only got a 1tb in my gaming pc because media lives on the NAS. I could probably have gotten away with a 500gb, I only play three games anyway.

There’s plenty of free space on there at the moment because it just has work stuff.

It might replace my current laptop because it can get pretty slow at times, but weirdly it’s only on the internet, and specifically sites like Google Maps.

I don’t have a NAS set up yet. Definitely on my list of things to do, I should just buy one because I’ve had trouble getting the desktop to work as remote storage.
