Sauron would’ve seen them coming and his wraiths + his army would’ve messed those eagles up. They only flew there after those were all taken care of. They needed to be sneaky burglers.
I enjoyed reading it and the silmarillion, the movies were good too but I agree with others. There’s holes in the story and the two towers is kinda boring.
ffs, the ring is so weak that just putting it in a paper envelope protects Gandalf from it’s evil effects.
why didn’t he just wrap it up real good and take it to mt doom himself?

He would have been too weak, he would have said, “No”
I think to retrieve a lost item from the prison purse you need to squat and fart it out. Can’t say from experience.
