    Some of them are. I sowed alyssum and nasturtium and planted some marigold seedlings. I have more of the first two and some sunflowers sown in cups/trays in case the direct sow doesn’t takes

      Nasturtiums should do OK. Tough little bunnies if they get enough shade & moisture. The immature seed pods are edible, as are the flowers. Quite a spicy peppery taste and a succulent crunch factor that goes really nice in salads. Neither cook well.

      Alyssum and marigolds are both pretty tough. Nasturiums are if they get the right spot - I have one patch that runs rampant under the rasberry canes and tried to take over the whole yard (with an attempt to get inside the house, too!). Others out the front in full sun struggled a bit, but one managed a foot hold around the garden tap and is doing quite well.
