I’ve only ever used the official app… I guess it’s like me eating nothing but nutrient paste while everyone else enjoys a roast. For me though, I have to agree with others’ sentiments about how Reddit has kind of fallen by the wayside even before the blackout. So much of the popular feed was dominated with rage bait, or just absurd videos, or repostings of the same thing that was popular 48 hours ago. It really was starting to feel like Facebook 2.0.
I only ever used the official app. The home page was a bit shit because you couldn’t set it to new but I didn’t have a problem with anything else and I’m somebody who can’t change the clock on the microwave without reading the manual first.
Edit: I just had a look and I can set it to the latest. Lol
Yeah - I think for me it served its purpose for sure. I miss the “trending now” bar that was at the top of popular but otherwise yeah, it was what it was given it was “free”. Like, adverts yeah, whatever, they’re everywhere in our world so it wasn’t a big deal to scroll past them. Some links, like videos to youtube where it would take you out of the app were a pain, but I didn’t know anything better, you know?

Yeah everything worked fine for me. What ever problems I had everyone else had too.
I hated the official app and website with all the ads. That’s when I moved to Apollo and it’s really sad to see it go ☹️
Yeah, I was blissfully unaware but I can definitely see how people using the convenience of apps like Apollo would be irritating.
I’ve tried all the apps and RIF was the one I preferred out of them.
Will be sad to see it go.
