Be careful with this stuff, both in applying and where you use it, as while it’s non-toxic you or the cat can so easily breathe it in and get silicosis. Don’t put it in areas where the cat can get to it or high traffic areas you may kick it up. And I recommend applying it with an old big paintbrush rather than using the rubber bulb to puff it out, as it hangs suspended in the air for some time.
But there’s silica dust that can be applied in a thin layer over a surface and it will passively kill bugs by dehydrating them to death. It can last many years.
