The Kmart ones might be worth looking into if you want something cheap, but not secondhand (like the ones from cashies). But not the $99 2400W cyan one. The turbo brushes are nice, but the filtration is atrocious. The filters constantly get clogged, and it will happily blow the seals on the exhaust filter.

Edit: Oh yeah, and the biggest one is they blow out dust when used which can aggravate asthma. My next one will be a HEPA vacuum

Could check and see if the filters need cleaning, or are blocked. I had a vacuum cleaner that does that when they are, and the power drops off considerably (unsurprisingly).

Certainly, in that case. You generally want to do it about once a month, depending on how much you use it (and how dusty the place you’re cleaning is), since it uses the ones in the barrel to catch all the fine dust (also why I dislike the thing rather much), and will spit some of it out into the exhaust filter, clogging that one too.

The way I usually like to do it is just drop it in a bucket with some laundry detergent, and wash it around a bit before putting it out to dry on the porch table, which seems to work well enough.

I’m going to vacuum seal some stuff into space bags first (in case I break it) and then do that
