It took a few days but I’ve put the second coat on the paper swatches. It’s a bit worrying how thin the paint it and how much brush strokes show. If I began actually painting and needing two layers I’d need to either mix the sames colours perfectly twice or make more and keep it from drying out until it could be used.

It’s fine. I don’t even have a colour wheel or anything yet, and still don’t know what official colours these knockoffs would be standing in for. I think I need to follow a few mixing guides and see how they behave first. And learn how to draw
