    I genuinely do not understand the terror of manual, and I got my license at 29. Driving schools can help if no friend is willing to risk their gearbox, you get a plate of ‘driver under instruction’ rather than an L

      I actually don’t mind manual per se, I’ve done a few lessons in it and was meaning to properly learn it this year. But I don’t think I’m confident learning it in less than 2 weeks for a long drive in someone else’s car…

        Fair. It’s much more of a Thing city driving than long distance. You can not shift for hours sometimes.
