So this is some bollocks. Guess I’ll be cancelling our plan since it’s only used by two of us.

Current price $17.99/month, new price $32.99/month.

If they boiled the frog better I would probably have accepted a $5/month price rise, and then another later… But close to doubling in one go is a no from me dawg.

Ha! I’m the opposite - I set up the service on our [email protected] account and we all share it! Our email says “we are increasing the YouTube Premium plan price to A$16.99/month” (from $9.99).

Funny thing is I’ve been toying with upgrading to the family plan, now that the kids music/youtube choices are starting to mess with my feeds. I have gone from thinking of going to $18/month to absolutely not thinking of $33/month.

I’ll probably wear the price increase, because four of us use it. No way could I justify it if it were just me, though.

I was also on the grandfathered Google Play Music pricing and saw the same email for increasing the cost of the individual sub.

The pricing makes sense in that context, since now the family plan is just barely cheaper than two individual plans (whereas that wasn’t the case before).

This’ll be a tough call, given I use YTM almost daily, and watch a lot of Youtube besides.
