There’s no rules for this sub yet so hopefully this is ok.

Nagi’s website ‘Recipe tin eats’ is my go to for recipes. I’ve also bought her cookbook Dinner.

Instructions are really clear, lots of Australian specific brand references so you know what she means, and she always lists substitutions for when you don’t have or can’t find a particular ingredient.

All pages have a ‘jump to recipe’ button and option to scale for servings. Search is really good for just pulling in an ingredient and seeing what comes up.

She’s also super responsive in the comments sections, and I highly recommend signing up for her email newsletter. Her dog Dozer features everywhere as he is chief taste tester.

RecipeTinEats is incredible. Best recipe site hands down, I’ll always search it for a recipe whenever I’m going to cook something, and if she has one on there, I’ll never look beyond her site. Full faith in all of her food.

Her mother’s site; RecipeTinJapan is also really really good!

I especially appreciate that all of her preamble before the recipe is cooking tips and going through the methodology of what she’s making. I always read everything before the actual recipe because it’s genuinely helpful, and not just a random page about unrelated things.

Exactly the same here - and yes I read her preambles too! But the option to jump is a must have for any recipe website, so it’s just another tick in her favour.

This is exactly what Food Australia is about. I will write up some rules when I can work out how to but basically it’s Don’t ridicule Don’t be an arsehole.

I too use her website and have her book and can recommend.

    Thank you for your contribution.

It’s such a good site - my number 1 recommendation for people who are not confident cooks. I like that because she’s Australian-based, unlike many other internet recipe sites, she gives suggestions for where to find ingredients at Coles and Woollies which is very helpful for people who are starting out.
