silto Australian Politics•GP visits to become free for most under $8.5b Labor [campaign] Medicare promise14·3 months agoSuper good news and policy. It feels like a splash (rather than a drop) in the bucket for the cost of living though.
Surely a decent housing policy has to be next.
That’s awesome! You guys have a much better train system for the airport as well. I’d love for the Brisbane one to be back in public hands.
How good! I hope they roll out this initiative to other states now and definitely keep it for QLD.

Just wanted to remind people that you can catch the 590 bus service to DFO for 50 cents. https://jp.translink.com.au/plan-your-journey/timetables/bus/T/590
And then catch the free Skygate transfer service to the Domestic or International terminal if you need to get there cheap. https://www.skygate.com.au/sites/default/files/2018-01/Brisbane-Airport-Skygate-Loop-Timetable-July2017.pdf
silto Australia•A baby boomer tried to show me a positive side to the cost of living crisis. It didn't helpEnglish77·4 months agoHer take on the cost of living crisis was that it was good that I wouldn’t have the issue of hoarding things like her, as I would never be able to afford them in the first place.
Lmao. You’ll be so poor you wont be able to buy things. Great flex, boomer.
Both are brilliant!
I didn’t like Prophet Song either. The mother character’s inability to do anything kinda bogged the whole story down for me.
Everton Park (Northside). It tastes very earthy/dirty.
Yeah the taste has not been pleasant for the last week or two.
silto Australia•The loyalty tax shoppers willingly pay despite push for supermarket competitionEnglish1·5 months agoI went to Aldi yesterday and they do really good prices with the limited options the my had. Example.
Sea salt chips big bag:
- Woolies: on special from $6 down to $3.60
- Aldi: always $2.99
So they do better than the half price specials at the majors.
Ah yep they’ve fixed it. It said 2024 when I copied and pasted!
It says “Double J’s Hottest 100 of 2024 JAN 24” so are they doing their own hottest list now? Have they dropped replaying the list from 20yrs ago like previous years?
Politics in one simple chart. Sigh.
What’s the feeling in Canada? This guy good enough to win the election?
