We gotta get rid of this shit. We can’t pass this problem on to future generations.

I’m ready to shit on boomers for a bunch of things like housing, education and job competition, but asbestos is not one of those things. They probably were more affected by that fuck up than any subsequent generations. Same with thalidomide.

I suppose it’s different everywhere, but I see a lot of asbestos that has been left in place behind a coat of paint, like a cancer landmine waiting for someone else to tear it down.

Well, economic activity could be boosted by a policy to remove this stuff, thus, said line would go up.

I suppose its the opportunity cost each government faces, set up an ongoing fund and market for the removal of asbestos, adding economic activity, but not really building anything of tangible value, or build another highway, or something.

I’ve got the abatement crew showing up for round 3. First round was bedrooms, second round was basement, 3rd round is the garage. Each one costs between $3k-4k USD. It’s taken us years to get rid of this shit.

Cost is a huge factor but emptying the entire house for a week isn’t feasible working from home either, haha. Also my wife and I separately lost and found new jobs this year. Now that we’re both employed hopefully we’ll be able to get everything done and move as soon as the market allows for it.
