My MIL runs a household sweep every year as a bit of fun for herself really, keeps her amused. So there she was, watching channel 7 and waiting for the cup to come on… didn’t twig from watching races at Randwick and eagle farm that it wasn’t coming on. I had to break it to her that they’d already ran the race and it was all over! We put it on another channel and they were just doing a replay so she got to see it at least, and we pretended it was the real race. She was a bit miffed though and has gone to bed!
