Yeah, I pre-ordered No Man’s Sky and played it a fair bit on launch. I tried to get back into it but for some reason I found that all of a sudden I was building bases and stuff where as all I wanted to do was fly my spacecraft.
And I get where you’re coming from with Bethesda - especially with the buggy mess their games can be. It’s why I’m holding out with Starfield - I’ll get it six months down the line when it’s on sale or something. For me, I loved Fallout 3 and Skyrim (bugs aside) but Fallout 4 didn’t grab me nearly as much, and Fallout 76 was online so ew, gross. They haven’t even set a release date for the next Elder Scrolls game, and asides from that, Bethesda’s IP is centred on the devs who made Dishonoured and what not, which I was never really a fan of. I tried, but I just don’t have patience for games that require me to sit in the dark for five minutes, meticulously mapping out what routes the bad guys take so I can take them down quietly (only for them to still spot me anyway because of some bug or whatever and I’m back to square one).
Completely agree on dishonoured. Mrs loves it, but not my cup of tea at all. I HOPE Starfield is awesome. I loved the old freelancer game (hence why I backed star citizen)
