Any hot tips on how to put a smoke alarm back after changing batteries? The Bunnings lady makes it look like child’s play but the top came right off (rather than being attached via a flat cord) and I’m struggling to align the top back to the body and slot it back in :(
Lol yeah I feel like they didn’t really think about this when designing these because unless the whole thing is transparent you can’t really see and try to align the bits that fit

Cook the base in a frypan until sticky then cartoon pancake flip it onto the ceiling.
Taping the bloody thing together was plan B lol
they are not symmetrical. Match the hole with the protruding bit…

Not much help, but my approach is to stand awkwardly on a chair and just mash it at the roof part until it catches.
Pretty much this. Thankfully we got there in the end.
My solution was to buy one of those smoke alarms with a built in battery that lasts 10 years.
This is not helpful information in anyway though.
I’m just too short to have to deal with changing batteries every year (or reach the top shelf at a supermarket) so I feel your pain
Lol even if you have a ladder to reach the design is just too stupid so I agree with built in batteries
