      I worked out that I had been crocheting into the same ch2 hole after joining the round, which meant increasing asymmetrically on one side and growing the stitch count!

      Crochet seems a lot more free form than knitting so it was easy for me to get off track. But seeing the results gave me a lot of clarity on where I mistook the written directions.

        Yeah the last stitch is always into the chain. You’ll know it’s going well when you see the chain go diagonal.

          When beginning a new round it looked like I was ‘skipping’ a ch2 space at the start so I’d DC in there but in reality it was the same space I’d just slip stitched into and so I was accidentally making a V increase after I was meant to stop increasing.

          But yeah, it’s nicely on track now. Looks like \

          I’m trying to get the efficient motion and tension/yarn holding finger down next and it’s coming along
