I’ve had to peel some flat cables off as I’m replacing the palm rest and peeling them off has left some very light tacky residue that obviously kept them in place. I need to secure them inside the new palm rest/casing.
I really was hoping to find an equiv in Bunnings since everywhere else is shut today. Worse case I’ll have to get it tomorrow, but I’d love to finish it today.
DDT Techies, what type of adhesive/tape is used inside laptops to stick down small flat cables? What is it called?
I’ve always only used normal double sided tape from Kmart or whatever
Idk if that’s the recommended method or not though
The laptop runs pretty hot so looking at thermal tape. (I also have normal double-sided tape, but I think it’s dead, LOL).
@Llabyrinthine
The cellophane-like clear tape is called kapton, if that is what you are looking for…?
@Baku
Thanks, but I don’t think it’s Kapton.

ESD safe tape maybe?
Thanks! Maybe?
