Emoji inspiration: I call this part of the year (the time between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day) the “never-never times” because some things are open, others are closed, some people are working, a lot not, so fuck all gets done, and if you need anything besides food or groceries, you’re basically SOL

Happy International Day of Epidemic Preparedness!

Made it back home safe and sound with Glen 20 and a microwave meal (mostly because although I have easy to do meals, I don’t have the energy to do something nutritious… Mostly in it for the low quality veg on the side)

I’m still very nauseous though. No clue if it’s something I ate, the smell, the lack of sleep, some kind of toxin or gas or something, or just a combination of everything but I do not feel very well at all

Sorry I’ve been so self centred recently. I’ll try and at the very least being some positivity in over the next few days

E: LL messaged to say somebody will be coming on new years eve afternoon

It’s fine dude. You’ve just made a huge milestone leap that you will need to settle from - only to be met by a nauseating sensory nightmare.

      The heat can’t be helping

Thanks Melbsy. You’re right, the heat is absolutely not helping. Well, maybe it does kind of help decomposition, but it does not help smell, and it does not help brain capacity and tolerance. But good news, somebody said they could lend me a portable air con from Monday til I sort something else out. My electricity bill is gonna be fucked, but yeah, I’ll gladly take just having a cold blast of air at my head at this point

You’re dealing with dead animal stench in house! Most everyone would find it repulsive. Hopefully the Glen 20 helps a bit. Perhaps eat dinner in your outdoor area? Might be better for appetite.

Unfortunately I don’t really have an outdoor area yet. I’m hoping to set one up with some outdoor furniture when (or tbh even if) the finances allow. Currently I’ve just got the pool, umbrella, and a plant stand thing. I’ll probably just eat at my computer desk in my bedroom because the smell hasn’t permeated in, at least not yet

Pretty much anything goes for first independant home outdoor area! I remember in my student days people used things like milk crates, old esky’s, large logs as seats. Table can be any old crap it really doesn’t matter. Plus, recycling is good for the planet. Then slowly over time as you find your feet you can buy other things. Improvisation can be fun and creative too.
