In WWI, Australia and New Zealand had their own separate part of the British army called ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) that was reported to have shown true courage, endurance, and ingenuity while maintaining an irreverent attitude despite their first campaign being the horribly mismanaged and disastrous (by British commanders) Gallipoli campaign.
