My kids know who G Flip is from TikTok.

Look I know I’m too old and not the TripleJ target audience, I fit the DoubleJ demographic. If this is a true reflection of what’s making waves with TripleJ listeners, that’s great. I would just question why?

Listen friend, I just turned 42 (if that counts). There were very few, what I would call, ‘bangers’ in the 100. The point I was trying to make was; there were more Aussies than internationals, and I don’t think a Chinese app influenced it all that much.

It’s more the format of tiktok favours a certain type of song. And because tiktok is how many young folk discover and connect with new music, we saw many of those type of songs charting.
