Even suburbs like Kalamunda and Mundaring are hardly rural.
Kalamunda is suburbia with a view
I dunno about Kalamunda, but Mundaring only has 3,000ish people. That’s a pretty tiny population for such a big area. Still, it has traffic lights, a Maccas, Coles & KFC. maybe it does get to be a real suburb?
Mundaring gained suburb status when we lost the battle against KFC.
Too bad River Rooster isn’t around anymore. They were really the divider between rural and metro.
I always learnt it as the rural-urban fringe
