Money is not the only thing scammers are looking to steal these days – your personal identification can be just as valuable to them. As part of their ruse, scammers posing as legitimate organisations or government service providers often pretend to need copies of your driver’s licence and passport to verify your identity, when their actual aim is to steal it.

Basically… log in to dotdirect and add a block.

Remove the block when you actually need to be looked up.

    Ahh, the remove bit is what I didn’t get. I was wondering why I’d want to block this, as I use my license for ID periodically.

      Yeah. I feel like they really dropped the ball by not providing a “remove block for 48 hours” function.
