This is the best summary I could come up with:

Sky News has provided the Federal Court with an alleged secret recording of a conversation which purportedly shows Brittany Higgins’s lawyer and fiance discussing her cross-examination while she was still testifying.

Sky News has reported comments from an alleged conversation between Ms Higgins’s lawyer Leon Zwier, her fiance David Sharaz, and her friend Emma Webster, which it claims were recorded by a member of the public in the bar of the Park Hyatt Hotel in Sydney last Monday.

Mr Lehrmann is suing Network Ten and journalist Lisa Wilkinson for defamation over an interview on The Project in which Ms Higgins alleged she was raped in Parliament House in Canberra in March 2019.

In his testimony to the Federal Court as part of Mr Lehrmann’s defamation proceedings, Network Ten producer Angus Llewellyn said his team at The Project would not have put Ms Higgins’s allegation to air if staff had doubted the truth of her claim.

In the phone call, which took place after Ms Higgins recorded her interview with The Project in 2021, Senator Cash said that was the first time she had been made aware of specific details of the allegation.

Though under cross-examination in the Federal Court earlier this month, she conceded it may have also been caused by a fall at the nightclub, where she had gone with Mr Lehrmann and two others before she returned to Parliament House.

The original article contains 733 words, the summary contains 231 words. Saved 68%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Will this lead to another trial failure, or is it minor?

I hope not, but this is quite scummy of Sky to record private conversations. Murdoch has been batting for him from the start, as if to make this a culture war issue. I really want to see this case finally resolved, because whatever result the public wins, as with most court cases.
