    I’ve been saying this all along. I think the “right to be forgotten” is kinda a bullshit concept. It was dreamed up as a way of stifling legitimate news stories about subjects where the subject might not like it. (See Google v Costeja in Spain, where Google was forced to remove links to completely accurate news stories.)

    But even if you do accept the concept of this “right”, targeting search engines never made sense. Search engines are just an index of the publicly available information. If you want that information to not be available, you should target the actual source of that information, not the person pointing to it.
