I assume the commenters on that article confidently proclaiming that keeping back overhanging branches will prevent possoms getting to the roof live in areas with underground power. Those connections are like possum highways.
I don’t seem to get possums in the roof, I think because there is a constant resident in the blocked off chimney that has claimed the territory. Many possum families have been raised in that chimney.
