Hey, just a little nudge, if you’re keen to chat about the Voice to Parliament, we’ve got this corker of a megathread where we can all have a good chinwag in one spot. But if you’re not up for that, no worries, it’s business as usual. Gotta keep things fair dinkum!

If you’ve moved in the past year or aren’t sure for some reason whether your Electoral Roll details are current, you can check:

This is the best summary I could come up with:

“Don’t delay — if you do, you could be one of the very few eligible people out there not ready to vote in the first referendum in nearly a quarter of a century,” Mr Rogers said.

You can register in a few minutes by visiting the Australian Electoral Commission website and clicking on the enrol to vote page.

If you have no fixed address, are overseas, in prison or incapable of signing, there’s is a special enrolment options page you can click on too.

The AEC website says voting is compulsory for Australian citizens aged 18 years or older.

It is at the discretion of the AEC’s Divisional Returning Officer (DRO) for each electorate to determine whether you have provided a valid and sufficient reason for not voting.

The DRO will consider the merits of your individual case and take into account any specific circumstances at the polling places within their division in making a determination.
