you looking to get a battery? I’m only a single guy but my 6.6kw with 10kw battery now handling like 99% of my power needs

that said I also got a heat pump installed which has drastically reduced energy needed for hot water

in vic power prices are pretty sane still. Between solar and the government rebate at the moment I’m hardly paying for anything in summer. Winter is a different story of course, but battery prices at the minute are too high to really justify a reduction for just 6 months of the year.

hopefully after the initial burst of orders the battery rebate settles down the prices for batteries drop a bit

Considering this was going on not long ago:

[QLD] Neovolt 10.1kWh Home Battery (5kW inverter) Installed from $7,800, Redeem $1,600 VoltX Cashback (Limit 100 Claims) @ VoltX

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/873651

Even now it’s still going for $7800, just without the $1600 back

        https://voltxenergy.com.au/pages/neovolt-home-battery-system

I suspect rebate may in fact be worth around 3k, so 10kw battery for 5k, the battery rebate will surely tip things into favour especially as they have an 8 year warranty but are expected to last well past that

yeah look potentially worth it. You’ve just gotta be certain your there for the time for the investment to pay itself off. this is my first home in a suburb I dont love, but practically cant afford anything more than this so guess i need to figure out what the future holds.
