While its logo (along with a former advertisement mascot) is a kangaroo, and slogan is “Add some Roo to Your Do!”, along with earlier advertisements having the voiceover of an Australian woman, the brand is not Australian owned, made, nor conducts research & development in Australia. The products are manufactured in Europe and the United States by Procter & Gamble, an American company. The brand and initial product was created by American businessperson Thomas Redmond in the late 1970s
What is this brand? I’ve never seen this in Australia.
And a quick search isn’t bringing up any stores stocking it in Australia.
It’s very popular in the UK.
Saw it once decades ago. It’s very rare to see here. Avoid, but you really don’t have to try.
Its a haircare brand. They only stock in the UK and USA I believe. I was going to purchase some to support Australia but then I looked into who owns it… Its a bit misleading.
Weird they chose hair products as something to sell as Australian, though. You don’t exactly think of us when you think of hair care, do you?
Two Australian brands I’ve seen doing well overseas are Rip Curl and Billabong. Beach stuff. And yes, I can imagine people around the world associating us with beaches.
