When we were deciding on which EV to buy, there were several very big reasons we decided not to get a Tesla, the main two being:

    1. Musk
    2. Lack of stalks (the indicator is a bloody capacitive button on the steering wheel ffs)

Seems there’s enough of a market of Tesla owners who want the stalks back to create an industry… selling the stalks… that Tesla removed.

I dunno I find it funny.

The indicator in the Tesla is comically terrible design, ever time I have driven one it makes me beyond cranky

Well I’m on the ferry from Russell Island on my way to work. Surprised that it seems to be as busy as usual. I have read a message from the Premier telling us to evacuate. Also Sealink have issued a statement saying that the ferries might be shutdown today or tomorrow.
My neighbours are away down South for ten days so a couple of us went and secured things on their deck yesterday afternoon. We took some stuff inside too.
Maybe the cyclone will fizzle out, or head in a different direction. Scary times for sure.
Stay safe everybody, we may be in for an awful experience.

Do you daily commute from Russell? That’s a fair effort.

Every workday mate yes. The first passenger ferry at 4:30 is choka block. Plenty of people standing every day.

Capacity is 200. You have to get used to it, but it certainly adds a whole new dimension to getting back and to. You don’t just put stuff in your car and get it out at your front door. You have to plan plenty of things. Getting stuff over like a washing machine, tv or lawn mower for instance, you have to walk onto the car barge. And pay cargo fees of course. I get booze delivered from First Choice, saves carting cartons. They can get heavy. The IGA on the island is DAMN expensive. Feel free to ask anything and I’ll try to answer.

On the ferry home now and it feels great. No more after noon tomorrow apparently so won’t be going to work. Oh no…

Always lived out there, or moved to it? If you relocated out there, what was the reasoning for that?
