Until now I didnt think it was possible to make that thing look more low-poly.

The people in this thread saying “fuck him” and “he deserves it” is the reason why we’re so divided. The same reason we have hate and turmoil in this country. Who gives a shit if he drives a cybertruck. Similar to the Gulf of America. Who gives a shit about the change. It’ll be changed back eventually anyway.

      No, no no

Trump has been pushing for a divide for about a decade now, continuously pushing one part of the country, his fan base, against the rest.

Now what you’re saying is that now that people are fed up and start pushing back, we are the problem?

      You are the problem

It’s almost certainly the neighbors thing. The specific complaints are mostly that Rhode Islanders have a very distinctive accent (it’s no longer super widespread, but think Lois from family guy) and when your friends/relatives move there, they stop thinking of an hourlong drive (to visit you) as a day trip, but that might just be a trend in my circle.

That, and their clam chowder isn’t real chowder and wtf is coffee milk (yep, those are definitely just neighborly things to pick at). I always liked honey dew better than dunkin though.

Cheese balls are most certainly not equivalent to cheese curds in any form.

Cheese curds are an ambiguous term, they are either fresh or fried.

Traditionally, fried cheese curds are what one does with their extra cheese curds after they are no longer fresh.

Cheese curds are no longer fresh once they have been refrigerated and lose their squeak. Only thing left to do with them then is to batter and fry them. But they still aren’t cheese balls.

Silly blue plates don’t know shit about cheese.

Jaroje was so worried that he tried to trade in the Cybertruck, but with no luck. He said he received a call and a text from a Tesla representative saying the company can’t take the truck back, even after sending them the hateful sticker.

“He confirmed with the text message that Tesla is not accepting Cybertruck trade-ins at this moment,” Jaroje said. He hopes the community will set aside judgment and be open to differences.

The vehicles are so bad that even the company that makes them won’t buy them.

If a woman wears a short dress to feel pretty that is not an invitation for someone to assault them.

If someone buys a vehicle that is a know disaster, from a guy who can’t stop lying and cheating, and then makes it shiny gold to really drive home that they love their nazi-built pile of rolling garbage and then complains that people are expressing their displeasure in said person’s support of the person who is actively doing things that are killing/will kill people well buddy they can absolutely go fuck themselves.

The basic mechanism is similar, but if you can’t see the ten mile wide gap between those two scenarios I’m not really sure how to explain it to you.

You can have my upvote, but commenting here risks the echo chamber that is Lemmy to attack this comment too.

This place is perfectly OK stooping as low as the “other side”. Our violence is justified, theirs is not. Under no circumstance is the owner of that Cybertruck owned by someone that LOVES EV’s and just loves its looks/capabilities. They absolutely must have bought it because they support Nazi’s, no other reason. Everyone else here is virtuously perfect.

So each ‘side’ of America keeps stepping lower, justifying it by the previous act bringing us deeper into this hell we’re building in real time.

For the record, Elon can go f%$k himself, but under no circumstances am I going to inflict violence/anger on a random AMERICAN going about their day in their stupid Cybertruck.

If they’re just an EV enthusiast, they would have bought a good EV that doesn’t crash itself, lock you inside, and rust out from a little morning dew. A Rivian pickup still costs less than a Swasticar and functions a lot better.

This was a personal choice that these drivers made when they bought their truck, and they get to live with the consequences. Your argument has more holes than swiss cheese.

          Our violence is justified…

Please point me to a news source that reported actual physical violence to a swasticar driver. All I’ve seen is light vandalism at best.

If you loved EVs, why on Earth would you get a Cybertruck when there are legitimately good EV trucks out there?

          https://www.caranddriver.com/rivian/r1t

If you scroll down to the list of other EV trucks, the Cybertruck is the most expensive after the Hummer, which, no shit that’s ridiculously overpriced like all Hummers. That’s not an endorsement.

Seems a question you’d have to ask the person that bought it, not me.

I think everything about them is stupid. EVs in general do not fit my use case.

I do track days / time trials in my fun car I tow a boat and haul stuff with my truck (sometimes hundreds of miles). I guess if I could have a third commuting car a EV might work, but I use my motorcycle for that whenever possible.

You’re the one who came up with the explanation that it’s about loving EVs, not the person who bough it. So I’m asking you.

                Reread what I originally wrote…

I was, in fact, expressing how silly it is for someone to assume the Cybertruck owner was a Nazi or wanting to suck off Elon. That it couldn’t possibly be owned by someone that loves EVs or the Cybertruck for their own reasons not within the narrow narrative associated with someone that would purchase such a vehicle assumed in this thread.

That’s all the more effort I’m putting into this.

Yes, I read what you wrote. You came up with an explanation for why someone would do that. Then you acted like it wasn’t your explanation. Now you’re just outright refusing to back up what you said.

                  It’s not a good look.

Fuck off with the bullshit moral equivalence.

Damn straight, violence against Nazis is justified when violence against egalitarian people is not! What the fuck is wrong with you, that you think defending against hate is wrong?

Why is he ok with people that don’t treat others as human, yet expects to be treated as human himself, then?

While the Cybertruck is a screaming gold color, it’s for a reason. It’s a billboard for the medical spa the Syrian immigrant said he worked hard to build from the ground up three years ago.

There’s no billboard on the car in the article. There’s likely a small sticker somewhere. This is a common practice by business owners so they can file their personal vehicle as a business expense and dodge some of their tax liability. Frankly it’s a pretty shitty practice.

The billboard is on the back, complete with QR code. LOL.

It’s common to buy whatever the new eye catching vehicle is and wrap it for a business, we saw it when the new VW Bug was introduced, and again with the PT Cruiser, but for a cybertruck, he should have looked at WHY it was eyecatching… like a fish hook.

Oh, so it’s even more offensive because it’s a goddamn advertisement?

Edit: and a fucking tax dodge, to boot!

It’s just digging this entitled fuckwad’s hole even deeper.

    We’re all human

Dude, Tesla’s CEO endorsed a racist, misogynistic, transphobic and pauperophobic rapist. He shows up at AfD and FdI rallies.

You’re Syrian, once they’ve rounded up all the poor brown people they’ll come for you. After all, a god-fearing, bible-thumping, red-white-and-blue bleeding American could be given your business.

And your taste in cars sucks, by the way.

It sounds like we all agree. Despite all the rightful cybertruck hate and despite the garish gold color, this driver was not even particularly persecuted. He was just living the life of a normal Bostonian (which always includes other drivers cursing at you, cause that’s what we do here).

So… This is actually just a non-story. The headline could have been “Ridiculous gold cybertruck exists in Massachusetts, driver treated normally”

    Or perhaps,

“Driver of ridiculous gold cyber truck somehow still isn’t getting enough attention!”

“That’s why I came to this country. I pursued my dream. Now, I’m enjoying the free speech, but with this taking a different turn, that made me very concerned,” Jaroje said.

Freedom of speech doesn’t mean your free from consequences.

“It’s not just about what happened to me. It’s about everyone in this country. If you disagree, don’t retaliate. Don’t be violent. Don’t try to hurt your neighbor. We’re all human,” he said.

He is encouraging a nazi oligarch through the purchase of what is a gross flashy display of his wealth in a time where the wealth gap has never been so wide. You’re just asking for it at this point.

This is why the current administration is beginning the removal of freedom of speech (by enforcing removal of certain words from all government forms/sites/documents)

“I wish to buy something that tells everyone that I’m richer and better than them.”

    Later…

“Waaaah! Everyone’s being mean to me because I’m telling everyone I’m richer and better than them!”
