The firmware on the remote was supposed to update after updating the AppleTV. I guess the update didn’t fix it. Pressing TV and volume down for a few seconds restarts the remote which usually fixes it for a while.
Although I can’t stand him as a person, Roman Polanski made an excellent film out of Macbeth.
During Covid, they lent out multiple copies of the same book when they only had physical access to one copy. It would be like your local library making Xerox copies of their collection and handing them out. There’s no protections for that.
Capitalism Deregulation is not working.
That you need to wash your hands after going to the bathroom. I’ve seen too many grown men walk straight out of the restroom after urinating.
If we’re not going to recycle it, we might as well burn it as fuel in a power plant. Anything is better than throwing it in a landfill or shipping it off to another country.
Because money. People can’t afford to upgrade their lifestyle to solar panels and organic foods and a new electric car. Corporations aren’t going to stop making things out of plastics and poisons if it costs them more profit.
The media needs to find another photo of this person.
“Prosecutors can now put an expert on the stand—someone who apparently has the convenient ability to read minds”
Well put. Also wondering why Ketanji Brown joined the majority on this one.
Anyone else old enough to remember those “look for the union label” jingle commercials?
This whole debate seems like such a mistake/gamble on both sides. The press is going to run wild with any “senility-looking” blunders either candidate makes. I dunno why either party agreed to a debate. We are already very familiar with both candidates.
The problem is that the layoff isn’t targeted. Talented people can more easily find another job that will still let them work from home. That leaves Dell with a higher percentage of untalented employees than competitors.
“Shut it down and give the money back to the shareholders.”
They don’t have to. Even Jacques Cousteau worked on cleaner yacht tech back in the 1980s.
I’m gonna keep using my old watch until I see a compelling reason to upgrade (like built in blood pressure or blood sugar readings). So far I haven’t seen any new hardware or software updates that feel like must haves.
What went wrong: The US government allowed studios to own streaming and broadcast channels. This resulted in extreme fragmentation of the market where programs were no longer sold on the open market and every studio felt like they had to open their own streaming channel to compete.
It didn’t work when studios owned movie theaters and so that was outlawed. Now we’ve come full circle and studios can buy movie theaters. That’s not going to save the theaters because the studio is going to put their product out for a week before shuffling it off to their streaming channel. Or worse, cancel it for a write off rather than let it air on competing networks.
Whole Foods and Best Buy have done this for years. It allows centralized control of sale pricing without having to print and post new signage at every location.
I’m more of a Micronauts man myself.
