Summary

JD Vance defended Marko Elez, a 25-year-old Musk aide after racist posts surfaced, including “Normalize Indian hate.”

Elez resigned but was reinstated following Vance’s support, despite Vance’s wife being of Indian descent. Vance dismissed criticism, arguing past social media posts shouldn’t ruin careers.

Musk backed Elez after a public poll. Rep. Ro Khanna challenged Vance, who responded dismissively, sparking backlash.

The incident has intensified scrutiny of Musk’s hiring practices and Vance’s stance on racism.

It’s a class war, Peter Theil is gay, JD Vance is married to an Indian woman, and Elon Musk is an immigrant. The rich aren’t racists, homophobic or nativist, or any of that. The only demographic they hate is poor people.

Elon musk is a white immigrant, and they are cool with white refugees, per the executive order to prioritize getting white South Africans in.

Multiple of these people have had their wives insulted by the movement, but at the end of the day even if they are their wives, they are “just women” so no big deal for them.

Right. So if I have he/him in my email signature I get fired. But if i have hugely racist and problematic tweets that are less than a year old while having almost no experience or credentials whatsoever other than being a little buddy buddy with Musk I get to push out dangerous untested code to the most important payment system in the country so musk can block social security benefits for Grandma like he blocks tweets talking about how terrible a father he is. Got it.

His Indian kids are reaching that age when they either realize he’s a hateful insufferable piece of shit, OR they themselves become spoiled rich assholes with no moral compass and live off the griff.

Oh don’t get all up in arms about the honor of usha Vance here. She is a Republican too and voted for these neo Nazis into office along with the other neo Nazis.

There’s no honor to defend here, she’s one of them.

Usha Vance comes from one of the richest most powerful castes in India, Kamma, so she was raised on an idea that she has some innate genetic superiority that makes her feel right at home with white supremacists.

I don’t know the cast system in india, but I’ve seen this sort of behavior a lot from immigrants. Specifically those that “came legally”, and hate other immigrants and think themselves superior to other immigrants and blk/ltno people here. They think they are same as wt people because they are “elite” from their area of origin. And many times they justify this racist behavior from current gov by comparing similar racist stereotypes they have from their place of origin. They just moved country, they were racist, now there are people who are racist to them, but they still look down at others instead of standing united.

Sorry for bad abbreviation, kinda don’t wanna leave words for it to be flagged somewhere by someone in future and tracked back.

I have known multiple rich South Asian people who insist that they are white and get very confused and upset if they encounter bigotry based on people thinking they aren’t white. It’s very odd.

I mean whatever, you want to declare yourself white, go for it. Just don’t be surprised when racists tell you that you aren’t.

It’s so sad because if you look at their resumes, Usha Vance is actually much more accomplished than her husband. Peter Thiel just prefers JD, I guess.

Vance’s mental gymnastics are Olympic-tier. Defending a Musk aide who posted “Normalize Indian hate” while married to an Indian woman? Unreal. The man’s moral compass isn’t broken—it’s been sold to the highest bidder.

Elez’s reinstatement is a joke. Racist posts aren’t youthful indiscretions; they’re neon signs of character. But Musk’s Twitter poll governance strikes again, proving that bigotry is just another day at the office for his empire of chaos.

Ro Khanna’s right to call him out. Vance’s dismissal isn’t just cowardice—it’s complicity. If your principles can’t withstand a paycheck or a poll, you don’t have any to begin with.

I am a bit confused. This is JD Vance we talk about. He called Trump ‘Hitler’ on TV. And betrayed his position the second he got approached with the vice presidency. He pushed the ‘Haitians eat your pets’ story. Of course he is complicit. Not just by inaction or muted approval. HE IS PART of the racket.

Some insight from across the pond:

Our last Prime Minister was a British Indian from the Conservative party. Recent right wing and far-right members of cabinet have included many more Brits of Indian descent, including two of the most heinously anti-immigrant cabinet members we’ve ever had. One of them, Suella Braverman, ran for party leadership on an anti-immigrant platform, pointing out that Indians are the largest group who overstay their visas in the UK.

I think very similar things can explain why Usha Vance, Kash Patel, Vivek Ramaswamy and the like can align with an openly racist MAGA crowd:

        1. Class matters more than race. Most of these people grew up privileged and don’t identify with the common immigrant or brown person’s experson

        2. Power hungry people come from all backgrounds and will do whatever they need to get what they want (in Usha Vance’s case that’s being first lady one day)

        3. Submitting to model minority status, as many well-to-do immigrant families from South Asia do, means implicitly accepting, and ultimately reflecting, white supremacist values

And as with all issues rooted in history, you can blame the British for some of this. A white supremacist world view where Indians stand above the darker races was introduced to India by the British over a century ago. The British wanted East Africa to become “the America of the Hindu” so they educated and trained a generation of Indian colonial administrators and enforcers. This world view of Indians as superior to others, if subordinate to whites, did not disappear with colonialism. A lot of the people who held those views came directly to Britain and their children became right-wing voters and politicians. The connection with the US is less of a straight line, but you can hear it when you listen to Vivek talk about African-Americans, for example.
