Dr. Westman is one of the most well spoken, thoughtful, and science focused doctors I’m aware of. He does not sugar coat (heh) the known science; it’s always worth while to listen to him

100% - Don’t lose weight to get healthy. Get Healthy to lose weight.

I imagine electrolyte water fasts plus insane exercise would be the most efficient in losing weight. I recently read a study (i forget which at the moment) where participants on a 60 day water fast lost 30kg.

    And of course… Angus! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angus_Barbieri's_fast

Yeah it was 20g keto plus 3 days a week lifting heavy at the gym that worked the best

Funny thing on carnivore is in putting on more muscle with less exercise - I bought a steel bicycle as my carbon fibre one was too easy

I wonder how many “I’m not losing weight” people lose 5kg fat and gain 5kg muscle

Reddit zerocarb tells people to measure themselves rather than weighing themselves. The important number being a waist measurement less than hips

Having multiple metrics is important. The body could be getting healthier in one dimension while seeming to be static in others.

Waist circumference, total weight, arm/leg measurements, and body composition scanners : all good things to monitor if you have access to them.

I’ve often hit a wall in one metric, but improved in others. When I first started my journey to health my weight was stuck for a month while my waist was going down significantly.

Yep. Tape measure tells the best. I started buying high waisted trousers (which are definitely not currently fashionable for men)
