As more areas in south-west and southern Western Australia are flagged for future mining activity, hikers and bikers say they're worried some of the state's best trails will be affected if more isn't done to protect them.

The impact on the inhabitants of these forests is conspicuous in its absence from this article, but i guess they have some allies in the trail users.
