why are they called “Liberal” - the Labor party is more liberal; the “Liberal” party should change their name to “Conservative”

Liberalism is not progressivism. The US never had a popular worker’s party and instead they have two liberal parties.

Our own Liberal party mirrors the US divide between the moderates (think Turnbull) and right factions (Morrison)
