Melbourne’s possum catchers get calls year-round from residents reporting the critters entering homes. One family had three possums fall into their shower and fireplace.
There was a restaurant in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne serving possum caught in Tasmania. I can’t remember the name of it. There was also one in Stawell. Before European settlement, possums were widely hunted for meat and fur in Victoria.
